The Rising Chair emphasize the natural shape an object can made by transforming itself. Every piece of the chair has his own task to succeed in this transformation. It’s very easy to gather a huge collection of different chairs, throughout the years there has been a staggering abundance of them, in all shapes and sizes. But what fascinated me during my research was a simple question: to what degree is the object you're creating capable of dictating its own design? Is it even possible for an object to 'tell' for which form its best suited? And if so, what will the end result be?

Following this train of thought led me to discover several interesting options to create a new kind of chair.  The foundation of any chair is the flat surface you'll eventually sit down on. Using this notion as a starting point, I made several cuts in the flat surface and pulled up the different beam-like strands of cut surface. This created the preliminary but already distinct features of any chair: back, seat and legs. The rhythm of the wooden beams gives the chair an organic shape. The cuts are most visible when the chair is still down. But at that stage of the construction, I still didn't know what shape the chair would take in the end. This was determined by the various arches of the wooden beams the chair is made of. Folding the chair into its definitive form, as a creator, a special connection to the material was born.

La Rising Chair sottolinea la forma naturale che un oggetto può fare trasformandosi. Ogni pezzo della sedia ha il proprio compito di riuscire in questa trasformazione. È molto facile raccogliere una vasta collezione di diverse sedie, da anni è stata una grande abbondanza, in tutte le forme e dimensioni. Ma ciò che mi ha affascinato durante la mia ricerca è stata una semplice domanda: a quale grado è l'oggetto che stai creando in grado di dettare il proprio disegno? È anche possibile che un oggetto "detti" per quale forma sia più adatto? E se sì, qual è il risultato finale?

Seguendo questo tracciato di pensiero mi ha portato a scoprire diverse opzioni interessanti per creare un nuovo tipo di sedia. Il fondamento di qualsiasi sedia è la superficie piana che ti metterai a sedere. Utilizzando questa nozione come punto di partenza, ho fatto diversi tagli sulla superficie piana e ho tirato su i diversi fasci di fascio di superficie tagliata. Questo ha creato le caratteristiche preliminari ma già distinte di ogni sedia: schiena, sedile e gambe. Il ritmo delle travi in ​​legno dona alla sedia una forma organica. I tagli sono più visibili quando la sedia è ancora abbassata. Ma in quella fase della costruzione, ancora non sapevo quale forma la sedia avrebbe portato alla fine. Questo è stato determinato dai vari archi delle travi di legno che la sedia è fatta. Piegando la sedia nella sua forma definitiva, come creatore, nacque una speciale connessione al materiale.
